A judge has set a May 9 execution date for Todd Wessinger, who was convicted in
1997 and sentenced to die in the 1995 slaying of 2 Baton Rouge restaurant
The Advocate reported the date was set Friday for Wessinger by state District
Judge Richard Anderson. That came after a federal judge denied Wessinger's bid
for a new trial or sentencing.
Wessinger was found guilty of fatally shooting 27-year-old Stephanie Guzzardo
and 46-year-old David Breakwell at a now-closed Calendar's Restaurant on Nov.
19, 1995. Wessinger was a former dishwasher at the restaurant.
